Bright Lights Big City
Ever seen the movie 'Bright Lights Big City' (1988) with legendary actor Michael J. Fox? It's about this disillusioned young writer living in New York City. Who turns to drugs and drinking to block out the memories of his dead mother and estranged wife.
This illustration has nothing to do with drugs or drinking. Nor did I deliberately try to block out something. It's actually the opposite and it happens to me automatically.
But it struck me that the main character in the illustration, the guy in the middle with the helmet on, is like people on the streets in a big city. While travelling to and from work or home, with all the bright lights and distractions, they are all living (birds house) in their heads. Thinking but not feeling. Not really present. Blocking and protecting (the helmet) themselves from influences outside their person. With only a few sensors (the security cameras) active.
That concept had enough 'hooks' to come up with all sorts of funny and strange extra elements.
The illustration is available in four color ways.

With its premium matt inkjet coating, Photo Rag® meets the highest industry standards in terms of density, color gamut, color gradation and image sharpness while maintaining the special touch sensitivity of real art paper. It is pH neutral and contains no bleach or whiteners.
Beloved by professionals
This is the world's most popular fine art inkjet paper and the paper that really started the fine art digital revolution. It's beloved by many professionals.
It's a classic.
Superb quality capable of producing excellent results
It's everything you want in a fine art matte paper - acid free, cotton rag (its also available in other weights, and double sided). It's surface is relatively smooth, not 100% perfectly smooth like a hot pressed paper but smooth enough that it's very, very slight texture does not interfere with image detail.
It is a little more expensive than some papers, but in this case you certainly get what you pay for - a paper of superb quality capable of producing excellent photographic results that will outlast us all, when combined with the latest pigment ink sets such as the Epson Ultrachrome inks.
